What to Expect

When a person calls the Counseling Center, he or she is connected to a trained clinician as quickly as possible. Fear, uncertainty and doubt are dispelled right away by our caring and competent front-line staff. Our first priority is to ensure the health and safety of the individual by immediately arranging emergency care, if needed. Our staff are trained and knowledgeable in linking people to community resources as quickly as possible.

A confidential, thorough, personalized evaluation is provided at a time and place convenient for the customer. Caring staff help people understand their illness or disorder, what treatment options are available, and what to expect from treatment. We also help get answers about insurance coverage and payment arrangements.

We work with everyone involved in the treatment to develop a customized plan of services. Our treatment plans build on the beliefs and strengths of those we serve and provide clear expectations about what will happen in treatment.

Shelby County Counseling Center, Inc. welcomes the opportunity to serve you. Before beginning your work with us, we want to orient you to the services we provide, and outline our policies and procedures that enable us to serve you better. Please let our staff know if you have any questions. Thank you for choosing Shelby County Counseling Center. We look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
